Matcha Set

$74.00

This Matcha Set has everything you need to prepare matcha without overcomplicating things. Whether you're new to matcha or an experienced Cha No Yu practitioner, this set includes everything you need to prepare matcha the way it's been done in Japan for centuries.

The set includes a ceramic chawan (matcha bowl), a chasen (bamboo whisk), and a chashaku (bamboo scoop) — the three tools that have been used in Japan for generations to make a proper bowl of matcha. The bowl is wide and open, giving you enough space to whisk comfortably and build up a good froth.

Chawan has a soft, organic shape, slightly uneven in an intentional, not accidental way. It's comfortable to hold, with a generous open form allowing space for the matcha to be whisked freely. The brushmarks feel playful, as if the potter is enjoying the rhythm of making. No two bowls turn out exactly the same, which is part of what makes it so satisfying to use.

Chasen is made from a single piece of bamboo, finely split into tines to whisk the matcha into a nice, smooth foam. With proper care (just rinse it gently and let it air dry), it'll last you a good while.

Chashaku is the traditional tool for scooping matcha powder — simple, lightweight, and surprisingly satisfying to use. Each scoop holds around 1g of matcha, making it easy to measure your tea-to-water ratio.

This set is practical and well-balanced, refined for a mindful tea session, and equally fitting for everyday use.

Whether you're starting your matcha journey or deepening an existing practice, this set is a reliable companion — beautiful and made to be used.

NOTE:

Chawan: Our Chawans are handcrafted. Variations in glaze and color exist, making each one unique. The Chawan delivered may not be exactly as pictured but will be crafted in the same style, shape, and spirit.

• Chasen: Tine tips of Chasen (bamboo matcha whisk) will unfurl upon first use. Store with tines facing up or place on a whisk holder to protect and maintain the tines’ shape. Care Instructions: Before first use, soak whisk in hot water for 2 minutes to soften the tines. After use, rinse under running water, then set out to dry.

• Chashaku Care Instructions: Wipe with a clean cloth. Dampen cloth if necessary.

    Matcha Set Gift

I bought this matcha set as a gift for my brother. All the pieces of the set arrived in a timely manner and in pristine condition. My brother was very happy with this set, especially with the chawan (Snow on Soil variant). It was definitely hand-made as well as hand-painted. He is very excited. Many thanks for Path of Cha. ☺
